Jim Harryman
The IT Story:
Jim Harryman, our fearless leader, founded Kinetic more than a decade ago with one simple purpose: to make technology do what it promises to do. He brought in some of the best Mac minds around and has spent the past 12 years ensuring that every IT system he mans is fully subservient to its owner.
The Full Story:
Jim was not born in Texas, but he got here as soon as he could. (However, he is not the type of guy who would ever share that sentiment on a bumper sticker, FYI.) Starting in the IT Department of Commerce Bank in Kansas City, he earned his technological (not to be confused with techno – that came later) stripes and moved on to the bright, shiny world of advertising with a job working MIS at Tracy-Locke Partnership in Dallas. Having proved his prowess there, he then moved on to Lan Net Technical Services, where he worked as a partner until 1995. Then he realized that he was so passionate about right-tracking technology that he wanted to start his own company. So he found some dudes who felt the same way – and then he founded Kinetic.
Along the way, Jim managed to find someone who rivaled his love for Macs: his wife Julia. These days, he spends his time coaching baseball for their two sons and playing the guitar. In fact, he’s hoping to start a second family business as a touring musician trio with the Harryman men. Until then, though, he’ll stick to technology – after all, street corner gigs are much less reliable than Macintosh computers.
